Many of the short stories were very shotened versions of some of Dickens books, like Little Dorrit; David Copperfield; the Old Curiosity Shop etc. The stories were very simply written, obviously for children, but I think a lot of them are not great for children because they end with death and a bit of tragedy. However, when I was about eight or nine, my Mum read to us old stories and we loved them......but that was fifty years ago before Television.Product details

Charles Dickens' Children Stories Charles Dickens 9781511401142 Books Reviews
I ordered this for my . You can't really go wrong with Charles Dickens as an author whether you are a Child of three or an adult of 93
this was a present for my son, he is a great Dickens fan and he said the
book was great. I did not read it.
Simple synopses of several of Dickens' novels, including David Copperfield, Great Expectations, and Bleak House. For either children or adults.
I never realized that Dicken's literature is so beneficial for children to hear although the language is different than how we speak today yet modern Books. A true classic set of stories each child to hear through reading. Today's books are so often a movie. So beneficial to enjoy.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It featured some little known Charles Dicken's stories (at least by me) eg. Jenny Wren, Pip's Adventure, Little David Copperfield, Little Dombey, Poor Jo!, The Blind Toymaker, The Little Kenwigs, Little Nell, The Runaway Couple, Little Dorrit. An interesting insight into the hardships of the day.
This was certainly a book written for another century with child death in just about every story. It is apparent that the death of a child was common in those days. Also the idea that the good die young was also perpetrated.
I enjoy stories from one of the masters, a Charles Dickens read will all ways make you feel good.
He was undoubtedly one of our history's greatest authors. He keep you interested in the story and the characters, work that has passed the test of time.
